Maintenance and Care

  • Since marble sometimes naturally has pores and small, wafer-thin cracks, it can absorb liquids and retain it if it is not dried using a cloth. This could potentially lead to stains; therefore, always keep your marble products clean and dry.
     
  • Dish-washing liquid or detergents with warm water are most suitable to clean marble products. However, unchecked use of the same can potentially lead to cracks and stains. Therefore, it is important to use suitable amount of detergent and water and to pat it dry immediately thereafter.
     
  • Even though marble is naturally heat-resistant, avoid exposure to high levels of heat or putting very hot items on it as it can cause cracks and fractures.
     
  • Marble is sturdy and durable when kept securely in place and taken care of but very fragile if mishandled. If it is dropped or banged on a surface, it can easily chip, develop cracks or altogether break up.
